Private Wachau Tour from Vienna

Discover the beautiful Wachau Valley on a private Wachau tour from Vienna with your Austrian-American guide.This UNESCO World Heritage region is famous for its picturesque villages, vineyards, medieval castles and the beautiful Danube.

I will pick you up directly at your hotel in Vienna, and together we will set out for the Wachau in a comfortable private minivan with a professional driver.

Our first stop will be the charming medieval town of Krems. From there, we continue through the vineyards to Dürnstein, one of the most picturesque villages in the Wachau. If you wish, we can also enjoy a little wine tasting.

In Spitz, we board a boat for a beautiful cruise along the Danube. We can have lunch on board while enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Wachau Valley from the water.

One of the highlights of our private Wachau tour is the magnificent Melk Abbey, one of Austria’s great Baroque treasures. It is quite breathtaking!

At the end of our Wachau day trip, your private driver will take us comfortably back to your hotel in Vienna.

Jewish history of Vienna is a very delicate topic that many tour guides try to avoid. Susanne does a wonderful job in highlighting this important part of Vienna’s past! BEST DAY of our trip! It started with a scenic drive outside of the city on our way to the picturesque Wachau Valley. After an apricot danish in the town of Krems we saw several other quaint towns, and miles of miles of vineyards on our way to our lunchtime cruise down the Danube River and then ended up in the town of Melk and a tour of the Melk Abbey. Susanne planned a simply perfect day – one we won’t forget for quite some time! This was a 10 star tour!
